Birmingham, AL (September 27, 2023) – A fatal motor vehicle collision reported on Tuesday evening in the Birmingham area claimed the life of a pedestrian.

The accident occurred just after 7:15 p.m. on September 26.

According to reports from the Birmingham Police Department, an adult male pedestrian was walking in the area of Interstate 65 and Fourth Avenue South during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, a vehicle struck him on the southbound side of the road. The driver fled the scene of the crash.
