Fatal Car Accidents in Alabama

Over 900 people lost their lives in automobile accidents in Alabama in 2020. Every year, the number of people who lose their lives as a result of motor vehicle accidents continues to increase despite the number of laws we have in place to protect motorists along our roads.

We see countless accidents take place due to drivers who are negligent and careless while operating their vehicles. Some common factors in Alabama car accidents include:

  • Speeding: Traveling too fast significantly increases the chances of drivers losing control of their vehicles and crashing into others.

  • Impairment: When motorists are under the influence of intoxicants, such as drugs or alcohol, they are likely to lack the ability to make responsible decisions while behind the wheel.

  • Distractions: When a driver is paying more attention to their phone than to the road ahead, they will not see other vehicles or people traveling nearby in order to avoid collisions.

  • Disregarding traffic control devices: When drivers run red lights, pass stop signs at intersections, or simply fail to yield the right-of-way to others, they can crash into vehicles and cause severe harm or death to those inside.
