Dodge City, AL – Man Killed in Head-On Crash on Cullman Co., 38

Dodge City, AL (April 3, 2024) – A lost his life as a result of a head-on collision that was reported on Monday evening in Cullman County. Alabama state troopers were called to the scene of the accident just after 7:30 p.m. on April 1.

Authorities confirmed that a Mazda3 collided with a GMC Yukon while traveling on the Coleman County 38 near Coleman County 46, just 3 miles outside of Dodge City. The involved vehicles were severely damaged in the crash. At least one of them had to be towed from the scene.

The driver of the Mazda, identified as 33-year-old Cody Self, was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced deceased while at the scene. Four other people were injured in the crash. The victims were identified as 61-year-old Kelley Waunch and three children, ages 7, 8, and 10. All four victims were transported to area hospitals for medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
