Huntsville, AL (October 6, 2025) – A serious collision involving a motorcycle and a car left two people injured on Sunday, October 5, in Huntsville.
Officials with the Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI) reported that the crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-565. The accident involved a motorcycle carrying two passengers and another vehicle. Emergency crews arrived quickly on the scene and confirmed that both individuals on the motorcycle sustained injuries.
The male driver of the motorcycle was reported to be in stable condition following the wreck. His passenger, a female, suffered critical injuries and was transported to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services for immediate care. No additional details were given about the driver of the other vehicle involved, and it remains unclear whether that person sustained injuries.
The crash forced officials to close the westbound lanes of I-565 for an extended period as first responders worked to assist the victims and clear the roadway. Traffic was diverted onto Madison Blvd, causing significant delays for evening drivers. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the wreck and will release further updates as information becomes available.
We wish the victim and everyone involved a speedy recovery.
Motorcycle Accidents in Alabama

Motorcycle crashes often result in serious or life-threatening injuries due to the limited protection these vehicles provide. Riders are particularly vulnerable to blunt force trauma, broken bones, spinal injuries, and head trauma when they are ejected during a crash. In this case, the female passenger’s critical injuries underscore the devastating consequences that can result from such collisions.
Alabama has seen a consistent number of motorcycle accidents each year, many of which occur on major highways like I-565. These crashes can be caused by a variety of factors, including drivers failing to yield the right of way, distracted driving, speeding, or impaired driving. Even when motorcyclists take proper safety precautions, they remain at high risk when other drivers fail to notice or respect motorcycles on the road.
Motorcyclists are encouraged to wear protective gear, including helmets that meet safety standards, to reduce the likelihood of severe injury. However, no amount of protective equipment can completely prevent harm in a high-impact collision. That is why awareness and attentiveness from all motorists are crucial to preventing these types of incidents.
Victims of motorcycle crashes often face long recovery periods, high medical expenses, and emotional trauma. When accidents are caused by negligent or reckless driving, injured parties may have the right to seek compensation.
