Mobile, AL (August 29, 2025) – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon along Moffett Road in Mobile.

The crash took place around 2:35 p.m. on August 28, in the area between Dash Lane and Maupitt Service Road. First responders, including Engine 2 and multiple units, were dispatched to the scene near a local TacoVal restaurant. Upon arrival, crews confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the collision and at least one person was injured.

Medics treated the injured victim at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for additional care. The identity and condition of the patient have not yet been released. Both damaged vehicles were located along the roadway, causing a temporary disruption in the area.

Authorities directed traffic while emergency services cleared the scene. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the accident. Whether speed, distraction, or other contributing factors played a role remains under review by local law enforcement.

We hope the individual injured in this accident makes a full and speedy recovery.

Car Accidents in Alabama

Accidents like this one can happen suddenly and leave those involved with more than just vehicle damage. Here are some common causes of vehicle crashes throughout Alabama:

  • Distracted Driving: Using a phone, adjusting the radio, or interacting with passengers can take a driver’s attention off the road for crucial seconds. Even brief distractions can lead to serious consequences, especially on busy roads like Moffett Road.

  • Failure to Yield Right of Way: Many collisions occur when one driver fails to properly yield at intersections or when merging. Misjudging gaps or ignoring signage can result in dangerous crashes.

  • Tailgating: Following too closely reduces the amount of time a driver has to react. In heavy traffic, this behavior increases the likelihood of rear-end collisions.

  • Unsafe Lane Changes: Swerving between lanes without signaling or checking blind spots can cause sudden crashes. These often happen in areas with multiple entry and exit points.

  • Speeding: Exceeding the speed limit cuts down a driver’s reaction time and increases the severity of any collision that occurs.

  • Weather Conditions: Wet or slippery roads can lead to hydroplaning or loss of control. Even light rain can impact visibility and braking time, especially in poorly lit areas.
