Tuscumbia, AL (June 23, 2025) – A collision on Sunday evening led to the death of a young motorcyclist. At approximately 7:20 p.m. on June 22, authorities responded to Jarmon Lane near Jarmon Trail following reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a car.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency later confirmed the deceased as 23-year-old Jaheim Q. Greene of Colbert County. Investigators said Greene’s 2013 Honda CRF450R motorcycle collided with a 2022 Ford Mustang driven by an 18‑year‑old. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Greene succumbed to his injuries on the scene. The Mustang’s driver was treated for minor injuries and released. The crash temporarily closed Jarmon Lane while officials processed the site and carried out their investigation. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

We offer our sympathies to the family of Jaheim Q. Greene.

Car Accidents in Alabama

Car accidents in Alabama occur frequently each year and often result in severe consequences. According to the state’s Department of Public Safety, more than 1,300 traffic fatalities and tens of thousands of injuries are reported annually on Alabama roadways. Rural highways and major interstates—like I‑10—are sites of many of the most serious crashes. Even with improvements in vehicle safety, factors such as speed and impaired driving continue to drive severe outcomes. Understanding the causes and prevention of such accidents is essential for community awareness and safety.

Driving under the influence remains a leading cause of fatal collisions in Alabama. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that impairment—whether from alcohol or drugs—accounts for a large portion of traffic deaths each year. Even small amounts of alcohol can impair reaction time, judgment, and coordination. By addressing this single but critical issue, we hope to shine a light on how preventable measures and awareness can reduce loss of life.
