Motorcycle Accidents in Alabama.

Motorcycle crashes continue to be one of the most severe types of traffic accidents across Alabama, often leading to catastrophic or fatal injuries. Due to the lack of protective barriers, motorcyclists are especially vulnerable to the force of a collision with larger vehicles such as SUVs or trucks.
According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, there were more than 1,900 motorcycle crashes statewide last year, resulting in nearly 1,300 injuries and over 100 fatalities. The most common contributing factors in these collisions include:
Drivers failing to detect motorcycles when changing lanes or turning.
Excessive speed and following too closely.
Distracted driving and impaired driving.
Poor lighting or roadway conditions that reduce visibility for motorcycle riders.
