Thomasville, AL – Police Officer Killed in Crash with 18-Wheeler on Hwy 43

Thomasville, AL (April 23, 2026) – A Thomasville police officer died on Wednesday morning, April 22, after his vehicle collided with an eighteen-wheeler on Highway 43 within city limits. The crash occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m.

Officer Dallas Hinton, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both vehicles were traveling north on Highway 43 at the time of the accident. Emergency units responded to the scene shortly after the crash occurred.

Officer Hinton had served with the Thomasville Police Department for approximately two years. Before joining the force, he served as a Marine and received an honorable discharge at the end of his tour of duty.
