How Do Insurance Claims Work After an Interstate Collision in Huntsville, AL?

People injured in a vehicle collision on a Huntsville, AL, interstate may seek financial compensation through an at-fault driver's bodily injury liability policy or their own Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) coverage, when applicable.

Under Alabama law, an injured motorist or passenger may file a personal injury claim to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering caused by another driver's negligence.

Because high-speed interstate crashes can result in significant injuries and expenses, reviewing available insurance coverage can become an important part of the claims process. Violent forces during these collisions may cause whiplash, back and neck strains, concussions, and joint injuries that require diagnostic testing, follow-up appointments, or rehabilitation.

As medical care continues, documenting the resulting expenses can help establish the financial effects of the crash. A personal injury claim may include out-of-pocket medical bills, emergency transport costs, lost income, and other losses connected to the injuries.

An attorney can obtain law enforcement reports, review applicable insurance policies, preserve physical evidence, and communicate with insurance adjusters.
