Tuscaloosa, AL – Two Killed in Head-On Crash on I-59 near MM 77

Tuscaloosa, AL (August 23, 2023) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that a head-on collision took place in Tuscaloosa County on Sunday evening that claimed the lives of two victims.


The crash occurred just after 6:20 p.m. on August 20.


ALEA reports indicate that two vehicles collided head-on while traveling on Interstate 59 in the area near mile marker 77. Authorities responded to the scene and shut down the roadway.


Two people were fatally injured due to the accident. The victims were identified as 59-year-old Donna Cline of Braselton, Georgia, and 28-year-old James Hoskins. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene by responding law enforcement.


Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are actively investigating the crash.
