Walker Co., AL – Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Crash on Hwy 69 Near Oakman

Walker County, AL (May 18, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed on Saturday, May 16, after being struck by a vehicle on Alabama Highway 69 near the 193-mile marker, approximately three miles north of Oakman.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. on May 16 when a 33-year-old woman, identified as Jaimee L. Tubbs, was struck by a sedan driven by a 21-year-old woman from Jasper. 

Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident, but the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and could not be revived. The driver of the sedan remained at the scene following the crash.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision.
