Webb, AL – 21-Year-Old Killed in Crash with 18-Wheeler on AL-52

Webb, AL (March 10, 2025) – A young woman lost her life early Saturday morning, March 8, in a collision involving a large commercial truck in Webb.

Authorities reported that the crash happened at approximately 5:35 a.m. along Alabama Highway 52, about five miles east of Dothan. Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd identified the victim as 21-year-old Reagan Colleen Brewer, a resident of the Webb and Dothan area.

According to Byrd, Brewer's vehicle appeared to have pulled into the path of an 18-wheeler before the collision occurred. The impact of the crash was severe, and Brewer succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The accident remains under investigation as officials work to determine the full circumstances leading up to the crash.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Reagan Colleen Brewer during this difficult time.

Truck Accidents in Alabama

Alabama’s highways see a significant number of commercial truck accidents each year. According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, thousands of crashes involving large trucks occur annually, many of which result in serious or fatal injuries. Due to the size and weight of 18-wheelers, collisions involving these vehicles can be especially devastating.

Several factors commonly contribute to truck accidents, including:

  • Driver Fatigue – Long hours behind the wheel can lead to drowsy driving, reducing reaction time and increasing the risk of a crash.

  • Blind Spots – Large trucks have significant blind spots where smaller vehicles can be hidden from view, leading to dangerous lane-change or turning accidents.

  • Brake Failure – Commercial trucks require more distance to come to a full stop. If brakes are worn or fail, the consequences can be deadly.

  • Improper Turns – Large trucks often need extra space to turn, which can create risks for nearby vehicles if turns are miscalculated.

  • Intersection Collisions – Many crashes occur when vehicles and trucks meet at intersections, sometimes due to misjudged distances or right-of-way confusion.
