Baldwin County, AL (July 20, 2026) – One woman died, and several other people were injured following a two-vessel collision on Sunday night, July 19, in Baldwin County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Authorities said the crash occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. in the Intracoastal Waterway near Wolf Bay when a 27-foot Albury Brothers vessel collided with a 23-foot Key West vessel.

Kristin Delaney, 46, of Mobile, who was a passenger aboard the Albury Brothers vessel, suffered critical injuries and was transported to South Baldwin Hospital, where she later died.

Several other occupants from both boats were also injured and taken to area hospitals for treatment. Those who were not injured, along with both vessels, were transported to The Wharf docks in Orange Beach.

ALEA's Marine Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the collision.

Our thoughts remain with those grieving the loss of a loved one after this fatal accident. And we also hope all individuals involved in this collision are able to recover fully from their injuries.

Who May Be Liable After a Recreational Boating Accident in Baldwin County, AL?

Liability after a recreational boating accident in Alabama depends on the facts established during the investigation. More than one person or party may share responsibility if careless operation, unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or other contributing factors played a role in the collision.

Determining liability requires a careful review of the available evidence rather than assumptions made immediately after the incident.

Marine accident investigations examine vessel damage, operator statements, navigation rules, weather conditions, witness accounts, and any available electronic data or onboard equipment.

Officials may also evaluate whether the vessels were being operated safely and whether all required safety measures were followed before the collision occurred.

Families affected by a serious boating accident often face unexpected financial and personal challenges. Hospital expenses, rehabilitation costs, funeral expenses in fatal cases, lost income, and other related losses may create significant burdens while those involved attempt to recover.

Maintaining records of these losses can be important as insurance claims or legal matters move forward.

A wrongful death attorney with experience handling boating accident cases can explain how Alabama law applies to the circumstances of a collision, identify potential sources of recovery, and assist with communications involving insurers or other parties.

Legal guidance may also help preserve important evidence and ensure that deadlines are met while the official investigation continues.
