Albertville, AL – Dicksie Gay Taft Freeman Loses Life in Crash on Mathis Mill Rd near US-431

Albertville, AL (August 9, 2023) – The Marshall County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian who lost her life in the accident on Tuesday morning in the Albertville area as 69-year-old Dicksie Gay Taft Freeman.


The accident occurred during the morning hours on August 8.


According to reports from officials, a man was driving a vehicle in the area of Mathis Mill Road and US Highway 431. For unknown reasons, he veered off the roadway and crashed his vehicle into multiple vehicles in the Jack’s restaurant parking lot.


The force of the impact caused one of the people involved in the accident to be ejected from the vehicle. The victim, who was identified as Dicksie Gay Taft Freeman, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marshall County coroner’s office.


At this time, the crash is being investigated.
