Florence, AL - Injury Car Crash on Mall Rd

Florence, AL (January 8, 2025) – An injury car crash occurred on Monday afternoon, involving an off-duty officer from the Florence Police Department (FPD). The incident took place around 3:30 p.m. on Cloyd Blvd near Mall Rd and Belview Rd, according to the Florence Police Department. One of the individuals involved was identified as Officer Danny Hines, who was off-duty and driving his own car when the crash happened.

First responders, including paramedics and fire crews, quickly arrived at the scene to manage traffic, assist the injured, and clear the wreckage. Both Officer Hines and the other driver were transported to nearby hospitals for medical care.

Officer Hines was later transferred to Huntsville Hospital by ambulance, accompanied by other Florence police officers. Both parties are reported to be in stable condition. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) has taken over the investigation into the cause of the collision.
